Student, Your Child Life Coach Services
I have excellent news to share!
I successfully completed my child life internship today and I will begin my dream job as a Child Life Specialist in about a week. The support I received in the entire process, from applying to internships to landing my first job in the Child Life field has been made possible thanks to the student coaching services Your Child Life Coach provides.
The primary service that I utilized was Mock Interview support. Lauren Holley, is a well-qualified and experienced CCLS and student coach who guided me with helpful advice, tips, feedback, and practice interview questions to support me in gaining the awareness and confidence I needed to make a strong impression during my internship interviews and job interviews.
I highly recommend the services Your Child Life Coach provides. I will always be so grateful for all the support and encouragement I have received from Lauren and the team! Your Child Life Coach is highly beneficial for students, and it is exactly what I needed to give me an extra boost to be successful! Thank you, Lauren and the team, for all the support you provide to the Child Life student community! Thanks to all your help I accomplished my dream!
Our team is made up of highly experienced certified child life specialists who understand what it takes to land internships and practicums.
Our approach allows you to explore more than just “the right answers”; it helps you find the best ways to showcase your skills and experiences throughout any interview process. From creating an effective resume, and honing engaging stories and narratives to perfecting mock interviews, our goal is to help you take control of any situation while maintaining a confident presence.
“I highly recommend Your Child Life Coach!! Lauren helped me organize my resume, edit essays, and practice for interviews in a way that made me feel so much more prepared than I did on my own. Her feedback helped me to improve and become a stronger candidate as a whole. I am so grateful for her help and recommend her so highly!” – Julia Greco, CCLS
“I would highly recommend the Child Life Coach for any sessions from internship application review to interview prep! I found that she was very insightful during the application process—especially with essays, and she prepared me for interviews by giving me a mock interview with feedback. She will help you emphasize your strengths and with standing out in the sea of apps. It was my first round applying to internships and I do not think I would have secured one without her help!” – Meg Sheehy, CCLS

If you’re like most people, the thought of interviewing can be daunting. You want to make sure you nail it, but how can you be sure you’re doing everything right? Enter Mock Interviews. This service will allow you to practice your interviewing skills with a child life specialist, who will then provide feedback on your performance. We can help you customize your responses, incorporate theory, and boost your confidence so that you walk into your real interviews feeling prepared and ready to take on anything.
Our Mock Interviews are designed to help you get ready for the real thing. We’ll sit down with you and conduct a 10-question interview covering a range of topics. Once the interview is done, we’ll debrief with you and discuss your strengths and areas for improvement. We’ll also send you the question set afterward so that you can continue practicing.

Hi, I'm Lauren!
I have been a Certified Child Life Specialist since 2016. I began my child life career in a hospital setting and worked in a variety of units within a smaller child life program for 4.5 years. Most of my experience was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department. I also joined the student committee and realized how much I enjoy working with child life students. Each application season, I found myself excited to review and score applications, engage in interviews, and plan student programming materials. I started mentoring students one-on-one in 2018. Since beginning, I have added group sessions, long-term one-on-one mentorship experiences, and written a blog to provide students with more tangible information. Currently, I work with Child Life on Call on student support services and help run our online community of child life specialists. Additionally, I work full-time at the University of Georgia as a child life specialist in a research lab. I assist the team and our participants with unsedated MRI’s. I live in Athens with my husband, daughter, and our dog, Kirby.
For many child life specialists, there is a lightbulb moment. A moment when someone describes the role of a child life specialist and that’s the moment they decide that this is the path they want to pursue. Over time, this path has become more and more challenging. I...
